A mixture of hand-built trail and digger dug. Initial section of trail has a very slight climb then becomes a hand dug descent through. Trail has some fast sections, some slower techy sections and two switchbacks. makes for an easier but great ride back to the shuttle after Boulderdash or Radiata Rumble.

There are electric fence barriers that you can ride through without problem as long as you have rubber tyres and no feet on the groundLeads into Radiata Rumble.

Carter Scenic Reserve is one of the few remaining remnants of patchwork landscape once typical of the Wairarapa - grass, wetland, shrubland, and forest. Follow the boardwalk through a degraded wetland and remnant of flooded forest at Carter Reserve in the Wairarapa, returning via a loop track through the drier forest section.
