Mountain Bike Trails in Rivenrock

Barney Rubble

A mixture of hand-built trail and digger dug. Initial section of trail has a very slight climb then becomes a hand dug descent through. Trail has some fast sections, some slower techy sections and two switchbacks. Makes for an easier but great ride back to the shuttle after Boulderdash or Radiata Rumble.

Blackberry Lane

Technical singletrack trail leading off from the shuttle drop off point. Some tight switchbacks, Drops, Steep chutes and off camber corners, Short skinny across stream.

Boulder Dash

Boulder Dash heads off Pioneer Road over a wooden bridge and then has a short steepish section before turning into singletrack in pine trees. There are electric fence barriers that you can ride through without problem as long as you have rubber tyres and no feet on the ground Leads into Radiata Rumble.

Coast to Pin

Short connector from Blackberry Lane and Corona-Coaster to Pinball, slight climb up then drops across the shuttle road.

Corona-coaster

Fun, Hand dug flowy singletrack, starts off with some switchbacks then opens out into wide corners and woops. Leads straight into trail connecting to pinball for extra descent time.

Delta

Jumping up off main trail access, has multiple lines through trees before funneling into a step down then up into natural section across grassy slope and switchback dropping into chute before Playing possum.

Ebb

Natural trail, with some steep corners, a rocky section then slight off camber section before dropping into Barney Rubble Barney rubble.

Fred

Technical Trail running from the trail head near shuttle drop off point down onto Barney Rubble. Includes drops, rock gardens, Jumps, off cambers and steep chutes.

Going Postal

Technical Singletrack, with multiple line choice options, drops, tight switch-backs and rockgardens.

Handlebar Hill

Technical trail with multiple line choice options, Drops, Steeps and a few jumps. Built for NZDH 2023.

Langlands Loop

Langlands Loop is at the base of the park, You can do a short climb up to the top of the descent to do laps or feed into it from various other trails. Descent is made up of berms and rollers, making a pump/flow trail.

Langlands loop upper

Next step from main langlands loop line. Slightly bigger features from the top before joining back into the main line.

Lark

Quick and flowy, bobs up and down beside Pioneer road. Formerly the first two parts of Ebb. Now mellowed out a bit to better reflect G3. At the end can continue down Ebb (G4) into Barney rubble, or join into Pioneer to connect with Barney.

NZDH / NISS Downhill Track

This is the route that has been used for the 2025 NZDH and will be used for the 2026 North Island Secondary Schools MTB Champs. It links a number of existing trails at Rivenrock, and includes varied terrain. There are off camber sections, steeps, fast sections and table top jumps. All drops are rollable, or have b lines around them.

OverBerry

Short rocky natural trail, features chutes, drops and rock gardens before tight switchback and dropping onto Going Postal.

Pinball

Flowy berms and rollers with more advanced low line. Accessed via shuttle road or Coast to Pin/Corona Coaster. Climb section of trail destroyed by flood and slips, now only a descent.

Playing Possum

Very fast trail with 14 jumps and a few berms on the way down, surface can be loose in a couple of places. Temporarily joins into barney rubble near the end before splitting off again.

Radiata Rumble

Radiata Rumble drops through pine forest into a set of digger-built berms and jumps. There are two options at the jumps - this route - with rollovers and berms or the big jump which has several large kickers (no gap jumps) so still rollable for those wanting to keep tyres on the ground.

Skree

New Line for NZDH 2025, Multiple line choice segments, Starts at main trail split. Features off cambers, Rock gardens, drops, roots, loose sections, jumps and steep chutes.
