Mountain Bike Trails in Matangi Station MTB

Located in Central Otago near Alexandra, Matangi Station MTB features 35 trails totaling over 70km across rugged merino station land. The park is known for natural rock features and challenging terrain, with trails ranging from intermediate to extreme difficulty. Built and maintained by local volunteers through the Mountainbikers of Alexandra (MOA) community, this park is a raw, rocky singletrack experience with epic climbs and stunning volcanic views. The park is open year-round except during lambing season (October-November).

Fast rocky 4WD track. A road that was used to access the Otago Goldfields. Look for the grooves that were cut into the schist bedrock to guide wagon wheels like a railway. This trail is a public road, either side is the Matangi Statoi MTB Park and you will need to buy a pass.
