Nice wide trails letting you get some pace on and practice railing those corners. But don’t get too comfortable because we’ve thrown in some good tech to keep things interesting, like the steep rocky waterfall sitting at the end of that nice smooth wooden boardwalk. This trail is definitely a rite of passage before you move on to Dirt Farms advanced trails.

This trail is very popular with motocross riders and as such is publicly acknowledged as a route (see http://arac.org.nz/assets/Downloads/akatarawa-tracks/GW-Akatarawa-Motorised-Map.pdf). As such the trail is extremely rutted, and some of the ruts will swallow your bike. The surface in the upper parts is clay and slippery, the lower is firmer and not so rutted. But towards the end is a forest of toetoe with a tendency to cut anything exposed.

Not for the faint hearted Borderline is steep, technical and challenging. For those that like a good adventure then prepare yourself for a exhilarating trip down through the natives and as far off the beaten track as Dirt Farm allows. Be warned though this trail requires you to earn your turns with an uphill push out of the beautiful gully it ends in.

This Track starts from Anlaby Road and travels along the ridge line to come out at Valley Road, However it's in two sections the first running from the Anlaby Road south for about 1km to Nikau Palm Road. then starts up again on the other side and goes for about 1.6ks to come thru a gate at the top off a Gravel driveway which leads down to Valley Rd. The first section is made up of mainly grass track(mowed) and gravel/grass vehicle track. The second section is climbing Gravel vehicle track, which travels down a steep farm track terminating near Valley Road. Please don't travel along the upper farm track towards the large house, as this is private property.
