Te Ara Mangawhero Campground Loop Mountain Bike Trail

An alternate return trail for Te Ara Mangawhero (Phase 1) This section is on the Western side of the Ohakune Mountain Road and Mangawhero River. Towards the bottom it joins a short sealed section of access road as it passes the Mangawhero DOC campsites before crossing the Mountain Road to rejoin the main Te Ara Mangawhero trail. If walking it can form part of a larger loop by linking to the Mangawhero Forest Trail just before the campground road bridge instead of crossing back over the Mountain Road (no bikes on the Mangawhero Forest Trail)
