Description
This trail is best ridden from the Budleigh Street end. It starts with a flat shared right of way off Budleigh St, then steepens and increases with difficulty; first there are rough wooden steps to either ride down or beside (to the left with right pedal high to avoid pedal strike) then proceeds down a narrow traversing track through native bush with a significant cross fall to ride across; there is a fallen tree near the end of the bush section with enough room to ride under if keeping to the right, then a steep shoot out into long grass and into the Community Orchard. Once out on the flat, there is a flat undulating grass road to ride along out to Brois Street. There you can ride down the footpath and rejoin the Huatoki Shared Path. There is a steep shared path from Brois Street that takes you up to the end of Budleigh Street that starts adjacent to the entrance to the Community Orchard and then you can ride along to the ROW and loop back to Brois Street; which makes for an interesting extension to the ride up the Huatoki.
