Mountain Bike Trails in Unsworth Reserve

Unsworth Reserve in Cambridge, Auckland features 16 mountain bike trails ranging from beginner-friendly paths to technical descents, with trails like the Unsworth Jump Trail offering drops and doubles for progression. Currently in development with more trails being added, the reserve supports mountain biking, e-biking, hiking, and trail running with easy access from Auckland's inner regions. Managed by Auckland MTB Club volunteers, it's a community-focused riding destination for developing riders of all abilities.

Its just the walking track but if you hit it at speed, there are many wall rides all the way through and then at the end there is a couple jumps on the side. If you use the features it does turn to a grade 3.

A sweet 50M trail starting by the field. It starts with a short steep chute into a chicken drop to weed out the wary into a 3-4 meter triple drop to a semi-flat landing. Bring your balls for this one and hope they don't weigh you down too much!

Veirs off from Unsworth Jump Trail to a small step up. Then super sketchy turn through the trees and out of the bush. It then crosses Unsworth Jump Trail to a nice hipped step down to a loamy right turn. Fencing in place now means that the bottom of the trail is now closed.

A relaxed somewhat steep trail that traverses across the slope with some off-camber rooty goodness. A great intro to tech. Catch it at the right time and you can also find some nice loam pockets to roost to your heart's desire. Exits along the walking track.

Mr Slim

Mr Slim starts near Unsworth Jump Trail but crosses over early. It starts with a small kicker that sends you between some trees. Then another small jump. Chain Snap Creek is closed so now the trail finishes at the footpath.

A Fast flowy track that uses part of the drop and pop trail at the bottom. It now also has a couple of roller gaps that you can either double into a kicker or triple jump the whole thing to flat and hang on before the berm. Now has a compulsory gap jump at the beginning.

The Chute

A steep chute that starts from the walking track. The only way out is to push. Can have some nice loam at certain times.

The corner

You start on the walkway and go down the trail, the you get to a left hand turn. I your brave you'll go straight over and catch the trail. Then it gets fast until you get to a 180 corner with no berm. Then you go over bridge and into the park.

Unsworth Jump Trail

Little jump trail at the back of Unsworth Reserve. Has a drop at the beginning, then a pump and a 3 metre double, then into a natural formed roller. The beginning also has an alternative option where you can take a tricky drop into a deep hole that springs you back up. The next to the double is a small table top that is easy to take even with the wrong speed.
