Best Mountain Bike Trails in Riverhead Forest Multi Use Trail Network
Riverhead Forest is a large working forest northwest of Auckland featuring an extensive network of 367 trails combining wide gravel roads and narrow technical singletrack through pine plantation. The well-established trail system is popular for mountain biking, hiking, running and horse riding with multiple parking areas, though trails require careful navigation and conditions can be muddy. As an actively logged forest, tracks may close unexpectedly during operations, and the clay-based terrain demands dry weather riding.

Makes for a good long run after linking with Primo all the way down to the bridge.

A Fine Grind is an uphill link trail for those who like a challenge and don’t want to ride the road. One little pinch climb towards the top but all rideable. Great loop for sessions down Geeez etc .
