Best Mountain Bike Trails in Ratapihipihi Scenic Reserve

Ratapihipihi Scenic Reserve is a pristine subtropical forest reserve located 7.4 km south of New Plymouth, Taranaki, featuring a 1.7 km loop walk through native nikau palms and coastal forest. While primarily a walking destination rather than a dedicated mountain bike trail, the scenic reserve offers beautiful natural landscapes with a small waterfall and abundant birdlife. The reserve holds cultural significance as a former pā site and is managed by DOC.
