Aratiatia Rapids Lookout Walk

Several times a day the gates at the Aratiatia dam are opened to release the full flow of the river - a spectacular sight from the lookout points. Stay safe and keep clear of the rapids at all times.

Boyd, Oamaru and Cascade Hut tracks

Combine these tracks for a multi-night tramp with lush beech forest, river crossings and wildlife. Several huts and road ends allow you to tailor a trip to suit.

Historic Waihohonu Hut Track

Walk to the historic Waihohonu Hut, built in 1903/04 and used as a stopover for stage coaches.

Horopito Track

This track is no longer maintained. The track ends at private property. There is no signage from Matapuna Road in Horopito.
