T4 (Trail To The Top) Mountain Bike Trail

T4 (Trail To The Top) takes you from Makara Road all the way to the summit at an enjoyable and steady gradient. Halfway to the summit it crosses a junction with Vertigo, Varley's, Zac's Track and Whā Out. It has some great views out over Karori and the harbour, as well as some different perspectives across the park. It's an enjoyable option for riders looking for an alternative to riding into the park via Koru, or if you're heading south along Skyline.T4 began it's life as T3 (technical torture trail), a two way technical trail built by Murray Drake, Jonathan Kennett and Makara Peak volunteers in 2007-2009 featuring a number of man-made and natural obstacles.As part of the implementation of the Park's 10 year master plan, T3 was rebuilt in 2020 by TGL with funding from WCC as a intermediate climbing trail, creating loops in the northern end of the park. In 2022 it was extended all the way up from the water tank.
