Oruawharo River Trail - Carpark to NW point Mountain Bike Trail

Part gravel farm road, part grassed 4x4 trail, also trafficked by farm animals (hence pocked and dung "features" to avoid). Fantastic vistas (see photos). Steep, and sometimes lacking traction, in places. There are many gates. All have bike-width cattle stops, often also with a gate (to be left as you find it), requiring frequent dismounts. Trail is shared with walkers, horses, farm vehicles, animals.
