Mt Ida Water Race Mountain Bike Trail

This trail follows a vehicle track along part of the Mt Ida Water Race in Oteake Conservation Park. Quite easy for Grade 2, but the track is rough in places so a bit more adventurous than most Grade 1 tracks. Start and finish from Home Hills Runs Road. The road is a little rough in places. At the northern end, follow the 4WD track up Shepherds Hut Creek. It is also possible to access the race from Hut Creek Road which is approximately 2/3 of the way along from the northern end. Access at both ends and Hut Creek is marked by Department of Conservation Signs. An obvious circuit takes in Home Hills Runs Road. There are a few ups and downs on the southern section of this.
