Best Mountain Bike Trails in Whitireia Park
Whitireia Park is a 180-hectare headland reserve featuring a diverse network of tracks across coastal cliffs, beaches, grasslands, streams and wetlands with commanding views of Mana Island and Porirua Harbour. The Te Onepoto Loop (4.6km, 1.5 hours) is the popular centrepiece, winding through sheltered bays along rugged coastline and rolling hills with well-maintained tracks through meadows, wooded areas and beaches. The park supports e-bikes on 4 dedicated trails and allows off-track riding across farmland for experienced riders seeking more challenge.

The Inland track was recently upgraded around 2013, which has made it ride a lot nicer than it once was. There are a couple steepish bits on the Onehunga Bay side of the track but overall it rides well. This can be used to complete a loop along with the gentle Coastal TrackWatch out for people running or walking
