Mountain Bike Trails in Whakatāne Area

Whakatāne offers excellent urban and backcountry mountain biking with Onepū Mountain Bike Park featuring 13 trails through rolling terrain suitable for all abilities, plus the technical Burma Road loop options and scenic Warren Cole Cycleway along the river. The area also provides access to the Motu Trails, linked Great Rides combining coastal and bush riding between Opotiki and Matawai. Managed by the active Whakatāne Mountain Bike Club, the region balances accessible local trails with challenging backcountry riding.
