Mountain Bike Trails in Waitekohekohe Recreational Park

Grade 4 - M41 M41

Longest downhill track in the park - fast, flowy and fun. Trail can be ridden at all speeds, and as you increase your speed, a few rollers can be turned into doubles. A few small rocks and roots in some places, but relatively low difficulty to navigate. Trail does get slick and slippery in the wet.

Kids Loop M24

Kids Loop - Trail ref = M24. 500m. Easy warm-up loop. Starts and finishes at western end of the MTB carpark (opposite end to main park entry).

M23 Uphill Track M23

Uphill track from MTB carpark to mid station of MTB tracks. Accesses grade 2 M22 & grade 3 M31 downhill trails. Continue easy uphill on MW1 shared forestry trail to access park summit and more downhill trails.

M43 M43

MTB & Walking MW1

MW1 - Dual use 2 way MTB & walking trail. Previous forestry access road. Access from MTB car park to park summit.

MTB & Walking MW2 MW2

MW2 - Dual use, 2 way MTB & Walking trail. Walking & MTB access from MTB carpark to Waitekohe River (via MW3).Predominant MTB access from base of M42 MTB downhill trail to MTB carpark.

MTB & Walking MW3

Dual use, dual direction forestry trail. Runs from MTB mid station to Waitekohe River.

MTB M21 M21

M21 - 400m. Grade 2 downhill from park summit to mid station. Continue via M22 to MTB carpark if required.

MTB M22 M22

M22 400m Grade 2 trail from mid station to MTB Carpark.

MTB M31 M31

MTB trail M31 grade 3 400m downhill trail.
