Mountain Bike Trails in Rawhiti Mountain Bike Park
Rawhiti Mountain Bike Park in Whakatane's Matahina Forest offers over 15km of varied trails including the family-friendly Lollipop loop and technically challenging Sleepyhead trail with jumps and drop-offs. Located just minutes from Ohope Beach, the park features steep terrain peaking at 300 metres altitude with ungroomed, free-draining pumice soil trails that remain rideable year-round. Access requires a permit (NZ$5 for two weeks or NZ$25 for seasonal pass) available at local information centres.
