Mountain Bike Trails in Ranui Farm Park

Located in Central Hawke's Bay near Waipukurau, Ranui Farm Park is a working sheep and beef farm offering 30+ kilometres of handbuilt and machine-built mountain bike trails plus an extensive jump park and pump track. Open weekends and school holidays October to May, the park hosts regular events including First Sunday Fundays and various enduro and XC races.

Bottom Bracket Exit (BB Exit) takes riders from the Bottom Bracket trail meeting point to the shuttle pick up. You can also take the direct gap jump line off Tiki and join into this track. BB Exit is a fun little extension to the bike park even when there are not shuttles running and is a handbuilt piece of fun flowing single track through Kanuka forest.

A super-fast handbuilt flow track with grade 4/5 side hit features that can be ridden around easily. This track is one of the most popular on Ranui Bike Park and has large smooth berms, technical corners, and high-speed sections. This track is heaps of fun for riders of most abilities, but more experienced riders will be able to make the most of it.

Logging Trail

The logging trail winds its way down through the pine block covering as much of the hillside as possible. This is a long cross country track that has tight corners and skinny uphill sections. The logging trail is a great test of skill for advanced mountain bikers.

Manu is a fast-flowing track following the gully down to the bottom trailhead. Manu is family-friendly and all features are easily rollable. One of the longest tracks at Ranui Bike Park and machine built by Southstar Trails this track is great for a warm-up before the harder tracks on the farm.

Oakwood is a short, open cross country track winding its way through the paddocks. It has two optional steep lines but otherwise is a mellow fun track for riders of all abilities. There is a decent amount of elevation gain and loss for an easy track but the entire track is well benched, wide and of an easy gradient.

A short but sweet flowy track shooting down the central gully of Ranui Bike Park, this track is mostly smooth, skinny handbuilt singletrack with a short but manageable off-camber section and a fast flowy bottom half. The lower half of Quattro is also part of the Hi-Five and Lucky trails, with a trail merge halfway down.

Ranuka takes riders from the shuttle pickup point back up to the bottom of the Tu Meke uphill trail. The track crosses BB Exit and riders must take care to give way to oncoming riders. A combination of machine built uphill track and single track under the cover of Kanuka tracks, Ranuka is an enjoyable uphill track which takes you back up to the main riding area.

Revolution Downhill Track

The Revolution Downhill Track which hosts the Annual Ranui Revolution DH Race. This is a technical and fast track with optional gap jumps and drops. The entire track is not open for general riding but the middle section within the pine block can be ridden on the weekends. This track is for experienced riders and has tight and steep sections not suitable for beginners.

A short but brutal climb up through the pine block on a mixture of disused farm track and forestry track. Ideal for e-bikes looking to return to the top of the DH track or logging track quickly but also suitable for fit riders to grind up.

Tiki

One of the most technical trails at Ranui Bike Park, Tiki is a fast, flowing track that winds itself down the hillside under the shade of the Kanuka trees. Tiki has tight corners, large off-camber sections, exposed roots and an optional road gap near the bottom. It makes for a great, fun track for more experienced riders but should be ridden with caution for the first time.

Top Track

Top Track follows the ridgeline and is the main connector trail within the Kanuka Block. This easy two-way track gives riders access to the beginning of the majority of mountain bike tracks at Ranui Bike Park.

Tu Meke

The main uphill for most of Ranui Bike Park. Tu Meke winds its way back up the grassy edge of the paddock and back to the top connector trail where you can access all of the other tracks in the park. The track is exposed to the sun the whole way up and can get very hot and dry in summer. The track maintains a mellow grade from the bottom to the top so all riders should manage to get back to the top.
