Owhango is the terminus of the legendary 42 Traverse, known as the greatest mountain bike ride on the North Island, featuring exhilarating downhills and challenging uphills along an old logging road. The area also offers the Mangapurua/Kaiwhakauka Track through the 'Valley of Abandoned Dreams' with its iconic Bridge to Nowhere, plus the Mountains to Sea Cycle Trail connecting Mount Ruapehu to the coastal shores of Whanganui through native forest and cultural highlights.
