Lismore Forest, 20km north of Whanganui, is an operational forest featuring downhill-focused mountain bike tracks through dense vegetation and rugged terrain managed by the Whanganui Mountain Bike Club. The forest accommodates all skill levels with beginner-friendly forest roads and technical descents for advanced riders, accessible via Mangaone and Airstrip Roads every weekend. Access to additional forest roads is available on the first Sunday of each month.
