Denniston Plateau

Mountain Bike Trails in Denniston Plateau

Denniston Plateau is a moody, high-altitude destination 600 m above the Tasman Sea on the West Coast, featuring 30 km of grades 3-5 mountain bike tracks through abandoned coal mining era drill tracks. The coarse sandstone surface provides excellent grip in all weather conditions, making it an all-season destination. Managed jointly by DOC and the Buller Cycling Club, the plateau offers stunning views and unique history, though weather can be unpredictable with mist, snow and high winds.
